I'm afraid I don't have Tim's eye for brewery detail, so here are my edited highlights.
There are multiple brews from Star perennial favourites Mallinsons, Pictish and Glentworth.
Local brewers Thirstin Brewhouse of Honley and Briggs Signature Ales, of Lockwood, are also represented.
Wakefield District does well with three music-themed beers from Revolotions, of Whitwood. While Five Towns of Outwood has a double IPA collaboration with North Riding, of Scarborough, called '300', plus its own Day at the Races ale.
An interesting pairing are sister breweries Four Thorns, of York, and Five Points, of London, who have two each.
There are also a fair few beers from North of the Border.
This side of Hadrian's Wall is Leazes Lane Brewery, a one-barrel plant set up last September in the cellar of The Trent House in Newcastle, which the internet says brews exclusively for the pub. So I wonder how Sam managed to get her hands on this one.
I think I'll go for a mix of near and far. Just two of many on my must try list are Stancill Brewery's Tom's Mild. Readers will recall they took some of the kit from the old Oakwell (Barnsley Bitter) site before the demolition men moved in. And Mouselow from Glossop, will be a new brewery for me.
But where to start? Looks like a busy few days at Folly Hall.
The pub is located off the A616 Lockwood Road on Albert Road about 12 minutes downhill walk from Huddersfield Train Station, alternatively catch the Meltham 324 buses or The Holme/ Hepworth services from Huddersfield Bus Station.
