Beers of the Festival - Huddersfield

For those of you who have been unable to sleep without knowing the results of the beer of the festival at the recent Huddersfield Oktoberfest, I can now put you out of your misery.

Mild - North Riding Brewery - Fat Lads Mild
Bitter - Mallinsons - Citra
Strong - Summer Wine - 7Cs of Rye
Stout/Porter - Boggart - Rum Porter
Speciality - Ascot - Oktoberfest
Cider - Udders Orchard - Whisky Cask
'Charlie' Award for Beer of The Festival - Boggart - Rum Porter

An interesting selection I must admit, and not quite what I would have chosen, but there again, each to his own.

I liked the 7'C's but was unimpressed with Mallinson's Citra - the first beer of thiers I've not been keen on!

I loved the Mallinson's Citra, but found the 7Cs too overpowering - all a matter of personal taste

I wanted to try the Rat Brewery White Rat, but it was all gone by Friday. Shame that the most popular beer wasn't available for a big part of the festival.

The Rat Brewery 'White Rat' is always on at the Rat & Ratchet, its effectively the brewery's flagship beer.
